Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few questions we often receive from parents.  Please let us know if you have a question and it isn't on our list!

Do you provide food?
How many children are in the class?
How many classes do you have and what ages do you accept?
Do the children play outside?
Do you require parent participation?
Do you take field trips?
Do children need to be potty- trained to enroll?

Q: Do you provide food?
A:
We provide a healthy morning snack while parents are responsible for sending a sack lunch/drink with the child.

A: We have 12 children with 2 teachers per day.

A: We have one classroom serving ages 3-5.  We ask that children turn 3 by November 31st and we offer our program to children until they are ready to enter kindergarden.

A: Yes!  We have a covered area during the winter months and we try to spend at least a half an hour a day outside.  We treat the playground as an extension of the classroom and use it not only to promote gross motor skills and exercise, but also for art, music, dance and even circle time!

A: Parent involvement is not required.  If you would like to participate, there are many ways you can volunteer and we are happy to discuss different options.  We have an "Open Door" policy and parents are invited to stop in for a visit or to have lunch with their child and his/her class as often as they like.

A: We take approximately 6-8 field trips per year to supplement our curriculum.  We rely on parent voluteers to help drive and supervise field trips.  These are fun and exciting ways to learn about and enjoy our community!

A: We prefer that children are able to use the toliet at the beginning of the school year.  This enables us to spend more time leading activities and being hands-on with the class.  However, we understand that self-help skills take time to master and are willing to work closely with families to reach this goal.  We ask that children be in the process of potty-training at the beginning of the year and then wearing underwear and using the toliet by October.
